Winter is officially over. Tonight I saw...a firefly.

I've seen a few more since then, as well as seeing some glow-worms.
Blinking trees can't be far behind.

For me, that would indicate Spring is over, but then again, we don't have much in the way of "Spring" 'round here, at least the non-humid kind. (Back home, I never really saw fireflies until late June/early July.)

But being hot aside, I do love seeing the glowing little buggers in the evening, almost as much as tree-peepers. :-)

Can't wait till the fireflies come out in force. We have a willow tree in the front yard that they like to fly up into, and it blinks like a christmas tree.

best part was last year when we were having lightning flashes one night, the entire tree's worth of flies flashed back in unison a couple seconds later, as a response to the lightning. Gotta try to get that on video...

Winter is over! On the weekend the overnight temperature dipped down to nearly freezing but there was no frost! YAY THE SPRING.
